November 3rd, 2004 Congratulations to my friend and key supporter of Platform Lab as David Garcia of the ISSA and Garcia & Associates married the wonderful and lovely Jennifer Green. Our very best wishes to the both of you. I understand that the nominations are out for the Columbus Technology Council's Top CAT awards. In the past, I have openly campaigned for Platform Lab to win the 'Outstanding Startup', but this year I will try to not get too excited, too early. I have decided to nominate the team at Wendy's for the 'Outstanding Tech Team', the iHost Solutions Broadcast Email tool for the 'Outstanding Product', Sanjay Chhabria for 'Outstanding Executive' and Kelly Schaffer for 'Outstanding Woman'….I am going to need to think about the others a little longer.too bad there is not a 'Omnipresent Award', we could throw Ben Blanquera a bone…he deserves it. The primary hardware vendors have been doing a great job of supporting Platform Lab. This week, IBM came thorough with a major loaner package for the Lab to assist a local hospital. Recently, Dell provided servers for a disaster recovery test for an Ohio-based insurance firm. HP and Sun have also committed resources and we are working with LOGOS Communications - a local Cisco reseller - to fulfill needs of an upcoming Cisco training class. As Platform Lab is growing and usage is increasing, the vendors have found that we can be a solid channel for future client engagement. Our thanks to all. Do not be disappointed in our young Buckeye team; we are a work in progress. Have faith in Tressel as we aim for a title run in 2005. Beat Michigan, Steve |
